Comparison
Is Salesforce Agentforce good for account executives, and what are the alternatives?
Yes, if your team already runs on Salesforce. Agentforce researches accounts, prepares meeting briefs, drafts outreach and keeps opportunity fields current inside the CRM your team already uses. Alternatives worth weighing are Microsoft's sales AI, HubSpot's Breeze, Gong, Outreach or Salesloft, and Cordanis, which works beside Salesforce from one rep's record of each account.

What Agentforce does for account executives
Agentforce is Salesforce's AI platform, and for sellers it is built into Sales Cloud. Salesforce describes its sales AI as built into Sales Cloud and grounded in your customer data, and that is its main strength for an account executive. It works on the accounts, opportunities and activity the team already keeps in Salesforce.
In Salesforce's own terms, the account management features let a seller research accounts, build strategic points of view, update account plans and prepare for meetings in minutes. Before a customer conversation, Agentforce brings together the account's information and prepares a brief. Its prospecting features surface high-intent accounts in Salesforce or Slack, and it writes personalized outreach across web, email and voice. Pipeline management keeps fields such as stage and next steps current after customer conversations. Conversation Capture captures customer calls, emails, text messages and calendar events in Salesforce.
Salesforce's March 2026 announcement says these sales features work across Sales Cloud, Slack, ChatGPT and Microsoft Teams. Salesforce's sales page says sellers can surface account insights, update deals and take action inside Slack, Teams, ChatGPT and Claude.
For a team on Salesforce, that is a real advantage. The data stays where the pipeline and the forecast already live, and there is no second system to connect.
What Agentforce costs, and what to weigh
Salesforce publishes its prices and says they are subject to change. Its Agentforce pricing page lists Salesforce Foundations at $0 and says you can get started with Agentforce for free. The Agentforce for Sales add-on costs $125 per user per month. The Max edition of Sales Cloud starts at $550 per user per month and includes the add-on and 2.75 million Flex Credits per org per year. Flex Credits, which pay for actions as they run, cost $500 per 100,000. Paid Sales Cloud editions are listed from $25 per user per month for Starter Suite to $550 for Max, with Pro Suite at $100, Core at $195 and Advanced at $395, and every edition above Starter billed annually.
Three things are worth weighing.
The first is where the work starts. Agentforce starts from the CRM record and from the workflows the team's admin sets up: qualifying leads, updating opportunities, closing renewals. That suits a team that runs one process in Salesforce.
The second is what is in Salesforce. Agentforce is grounded in the customer data there. Where a team captures its mail and meetings in Salesforce, it has a lot to work with. Where an account's history sits in a rep's inbox and notes, it has less.
The third is cost. The add-on is priced per user on top of the Sales Cloud edition, and Flex Credits pay for actions as they run, so the total depends on both seats and use.
The alternatives, compared
| Tool | What it is built for | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Agentforce in Sales Cloud | Account research, meeting briefs, outreach and opportunity updates inside Salesforce | Teams that run on Salesforce and want AI where the data is |
| Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales | A CRM with Copilot that drafts emails, summarizes calls, prepares meeting notes and gives forecast insights | Teams that run on Microsoft and want the CRM there too |
| Microsoft's sales app for Outlook and Teams | Insights from Dynamics 365 Sales or Salesforce in Outlook and Teams, with email drafting and saving mail to the CRM | Salesforce teams whose sellers live in Outlook and Teams |
| HubSpot Sales Hub with Breeze | AI in HubSpot that researches contacts and companies and prepares follow-up drafts and CRM updates for approval | Teams on HubSpot |
| Gong | Records and transcribes calls and meetings, captures emails, flags deal risk and updates CRM fields, with Gong Engage and Gong Forecast | Teams that coach from calls |
| Outreach or Salesloft | Sales engagement, conversation intelligence, deal management and forecasting for a whole revenue team | Large teams that run one process across many reps |
| Cordanis | One rep's book beside the CRM: research and a thesis on each account, the executives found, and every email approved before it sends | Account executives who sell to named accounts |
The table describes each tool in the terms its own site uses, as of November 1, 2026. Microsoft's sales app for Outlook and Teams was formerly called Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales. Dynamics 365 Sales is listed at $65, $105 and $150 per user per month, paid yearly, for its Professional, Enterprise and Premium plans. Gong prices per user, with a platform fee.
Which AI tools log emails and meetings to Salesforce
Salesforce does this itself. Its sales AI page says Conversation Capture can automatically capture every customer call, email, text message and calendar event in Salesforce, and its pricing page lists AI that automatically syncs emails, events and contacts in Starter Suite. If logging is the problem, start there.
Microsoft's sales app saves Outlook emails and meetings to Dynamics 365 or Salesforce in a few steps. Microsoft's documentation says the seller selects Save and picks the record to connect it to. With Salesforce, replies to a saved email are not saved automatically, and other people on the thread save it separately.
Gong says it automatically records and transcribes calls and meetings and captures emails, and that its integration with Salesforce keeps the data unified while its AI updates CRM fields.
Cordanis logs less. When your admin allows it and a rep turns it on, Cordanis logs that rep's email to Salesforce, and each email waits ten minutes with an Undo before it is written. It does not log meetings, and it never edits or deletes a Salesforce record. Meetings and replies land on the account's record in Cordanis, and each action is recorded: what, when and who approved it. If what you want is a complete activity history inside Salesforce, Salesforce's own capture or Gong is the better answer.
When Cordanis is the better fit
Cordanis is the workbench for account executives, and it works beside Salesforce. Salesforce stays the system of record, and Cordanis keeps no pipeline, forecast or opportunity records of its own. Each rep connects Salesforce with their own login, so Cordanis works with what that rep is allowed to see.
Where Agentforce starts from the CRM record, Cordanis starts from one rep's record of each account, kept from the team's mail, meetings and CRM. The Book shows where no one at the top of an account knows you, and one ask writes the pursuits, each from its account's thesis: what matters to that company, where its business is going, and why your company. Cordanis finds the executives there you haven't met and proposes them for you to approve.
Each step waits for you, written in full, and sends only when you approve it, from your own Gmail or Outlook mailbox. A reply stops the rest of the sequence. Before a meeting, Cordanis sees it on your calendar and writes a brief from the account. Research, the thesis, briefs and outreach are saved with the account and shared with its team, and a sales leader sees every send and every reply on one timeline.
Who should choose Agentforce
Choose Agentforce if your team runs on Salesforce and your managers already inspect the pipeline and build the forecast there. It fits best when a Salesforce admin can set it up, when the AI you want is spread across the whole team's process, from qualifying leads to updating opportunities and closing renewals, and when your company would rather add to the platform it has than bring in another vendor.
Choose Dynamics 365 Sales if your company runs on Microsoft and wants its CRM there too. Choose Microsoft's sales app for Outlook and Teams if your sellers live in Outlook and want CRM context beside their mail. Choose HubSpot Sales Hub with Breeze if your team is on HubSpot. Choose Gong if your managers coach from recorded calls. Choose Outreach or Salesloft if you run one sequenced process across many reps.
Choose Cordanis if you are an account executive who owns a book of named accounts and the hard part is knowing each one well enough to write something worth reading, finding the people you haven't met, and keeping that knowledge from one meeting to the next. Cordanis can sit beside Salesforce whether or not your team turns on Agentforce. It is not a CRM and not a volume sender, and it has no dialer, no LinkedIn automation, no A/B testing, no forecasting and no coaching scores.
